Appearance: colorless liquid
its original as a colorless crystal (containing three/five crystal waters), easy to absorb moisture, with certain ammonia odor and strong basicity; absorbing carbon dioxide in air, forming carbonate, organic alkali, with strong corrosivity. The product has two kinds of specifications: water solution and methanol solution.
Tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH or TMAOH) is a quaternary ammonium salt with the molecular formula [(CH3)4N]+[OH]-, and is the simplest member of the class of organic quaternary ammonium compounds. One of its industrial uses is for the anisotropic etching of silicon. It is also used as a basic solvent in the development of acidic photoresist in the photolithography process. Since it is a phase transfer catalyst, it is highly effective in stripping photoresist. It is also used as a surfactant in the synthesis of ferrofluid, to prevent agglomeration.
1) In the aspect of analysis, tetramethylammonium Hydroxide can be used as polarographic reagent.
2) In terms of product purification, it was used as ash free alkali to sediment some metallic element.
3) in electronic industry , especially as positive resister developer , silicon wafer wet etchant and super clean solution for CMP process.
4) in the manufacture of integrated circuits, liquid crystal displays, printed circuit boards, capacitors, sensors, and many other electronic components.
