Producttoepassing

Het wordt voornamelijk gebruikt bij de synthese van isoboterzuuresterproducten, zoals isoboterzuuranhydride, methylisobutyraat, propylisobutyraat, o-butylisobutyraat (IBIB), isoamylisobutyraat, benzylisobutyraat, enz. Het kan ook worden gebruikt als smaakstof, en in de farmaceutische industrie, organische synthese, als oplosmiddel, voor het ontvetten van leer en bij de productie van ontsmettingsmiddelen.
