Strontiumcarbonaat CAS 1633-05-2
Fijn wit poeder. Relatieve dichtheid 3,70. Smeltpunt 1497 ℃. Bij verhitting tot 1340 ℃ ontleedt het en komt koolstofdioxide vrij. Onoplosbaar in water, licht oplosbaar in ammoniak en ammoniumcarbonaat, onoplosbaar in alcohol, oplosbaar in ammoniumchloride en ammoniumnitraat. Het wordt gekookt met ammoniumchloride en omgezet in strontiumchloride. Het reageert met zuren en daarbij komt koolstofdioxide vrij.
