It can also be used as additive in fuel industry and dyestuff in textile industry and as organic synthesis intermediate in medicine and pesticide.

DM is mainly used as high-boiling point solvent for printing ink, dyestuff, resin, cellulose and painting. When put into paint, it makes paint easily flow, cover and flow flat. It can also be used as extraction of hydrocarbon and the ester derivative intermediate in synthetic industry. Besides, it can be used as braking liquid in motors, chemical reagent in analysis chemistry, and organic synthesis intermediate in medicine and pesticide.
